10 Years, One Incredible Farewell, and a Whole Lot to Celebrate!
Updated: 3 days ago
Well, here we are, creeping up on a pretty big milestone! On December 1st, Game On will officially turn 10 YEARS OLD! WOW!
TEN YEARS! Some days it feels like we just opened yesterday, and other days...well, let's just say I've earned every one of these gray hairs!
As we get ready to celebrate a decade of burgers, beers, friendships, music, sports, and more memories than I could ever count, something pretty incredible is happening.

South Side Social Club has chosen Game On as the place to play their FINAL shows on December 5th & 6th for a ticketed only event. And I have to tell you, I'm still a little blown away by that.
Anyone who knows this band knows they could fill a much bigger venue. Bigger stages, bigger crowds, more room, more accommodations — you name it. Heck, they could sell out the Majestic! So when they told us they wanted to finish their journey with more of a small, hometown feel, and they chose Game On to do it, I was genuinely humbled and maybe even shed a tear or two.
I think that decision says an awful lot about who they are and why they've done what they've done all these years. It's never been just about the size of the crowd or the stage. It's about the music, the people, the connections, and the experience. And THAT is something I can certainly relate to.
There's something special about a small-town bar where the band isn't just performing for the crowd — they're part of it.
It's bittersweet, that's for sure. I admire their decision to go out on a high note, on their own terms, while doing what they love. But selfishly? I sure hate to see them go.
We've had the pleasure of enjoying these incredibly talented musicians over the years, and the memories they've helped create at Game On are priceless. We're honored beyond words to be part of their final chapter.
To the guys in South Side Social Club — thank you. For the music, the memories, the friendship, and for choosing our little hometown bar for such a big moment. ❤️
Speaking of Birthdays...We're Not Going Quietly! 🎂
We're working on something pretty fun for our 10th anniversary. Instead of celebrating for just one day, we're thinking 10 DAYS OF FUN FOR 10 YEARS OF GAME ON!
We're still putting the pieces together, but if you've been around here long enough, you know we don't always do things the conventional way.
Stay tuned. You never know what we're going to come up with next...and quite frankly, sometimes neither do I! 😂

Halloween Is Creeping Up on Us! 🎃
Before we get to December, we've got a little spooky business to take care of!
Our Halloween Costume Party is FRIDAY, October 30th, with Who Dat Der Band bringing the music!
We can't wait to see what everyone comes up with this year. Some of you take Halloween VERY seriously, and we absolutely love it! Get those costumes ready, grab your friends, and plan on dancing the night away with us.
And How About Those Sports?! 🏈⚾🏒
I mean, we ARE a sports bar, after all!
The Bears are giving us plenty to cheer about this season, the White Sox are in the playoffs, and tomorrow we'll find out if they can win their Division Series and advance one step closer to the World Series!
And then there's hockey...
🖤❤️ Oh, my heart. Patrick Kane is back on the ice for the Blackhawks! ❤️🖤
Do I really need to say anything more?
What a great time to be a Chicago sports fan! There's always something to watch, something to cheer about, and, let's face it, occasionally something to yell at the TV about. That's what we're here for!
A Little Behind-the-Scenes TLC 🧹
Things are going really well here at Game On, and we want to keep it that way!
We'll be CLOSED Monday, October 19th and Tuesday, October 20th to give our nearly 100-year-old floors some much-needed attention and tackle a major deep cleaning in the kitchen.
Those old floors have seen a LOT of footsteps, dancing shoes, spilled drinks, and good times over the years. They've earned a little pampering!
We know closing for a couple of days isn't ideal, but keeping our place clean, comfortable, and well-maintained is important to us. Some of the most important things we do around here are the things you never see.
We'll miss you for those two days, but we'll be back, spiffed up and ready to go!
And Finally...Thank YOU! ❤️
As we approach our 10th birthday, I've been doing a lot of reflecting.
Ten years in business doesn't happen by accident. It happens because people choose to walk through our doors, spend their hard-earned money, bring their families and friends, celebrate their milestones, and make our little place part of their lives.
And in a small town like Peotone, that means everything.
I'm incredibly grateful for our customers, our staff, our entertainers, and this community that has supported us through the good times, the challenging times, and everything in between.
We've built something pretty special here, and I don't take that for granted.
So thank you for your loyalty, your friendship, your business, and for helping make Game On what it is today.
And a special thank you to the 10 people who actually read my blog. 😂
You know who you are. And I appreciate all ten of you!
See you at Game On!
Vicki ❤️
